Dr. Scott Whiteman

Dr. Whiteman is the founder and president of Willow Wood Animal Hospital. He is a member of The Society of Phi Zeta, which is the Honor Society of Veterinary Medicine, the OVMA, the AVMA, and the AAHA. He is also a member of The New Albany Chamber of Commerce and Jersey Baptist Church.

He is the father of three. Andrew, is a graduate of Boston University. He is currently a biostatistics grad student at the University of Michigan. His daughter Lexi is a freshman at Kent State University. Natali is a 7th grader in the New Albany school system.

The Whiteman pets include 4 horses, 3 dogs,and 2 cats.

EDUCATION

Graduated cum laude from The College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University in 1981.

Dr. Mark Hess

Dr. Hess graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Nuclear Engineering in 1991. After working for 8 years as a Senior Nuclear Engineer for an electric utility company, he went back to school to follow his passion.  He received his DVM from The Ohio State University in 2003 and joined Willow Wood Animal Hospital in 2004.  Dr Hess currently resides in New Albany with his wife, three daughters, and their dog Mojo.  Outside of work, Dr. Hess can usually be found on a soccer field, either playing the game he loves, watching his kids play, or coaching.

Sarah, RVT

Sarah joined the Willow Wood team in 1993 as a vet tech student, following her passion for learning more about the human-animal bond and medicine. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State in 1994, and is a member of the OAVT. Her fulfilling career has lead her to be an advocate of pet rescue. She enjoys running and walking with her furry kids in the great outdoors, all year round.

Stacie, RVT

Stacie is a Registered Veterinary Technician at Willow Wood Animal Hospital.  She earned her associate's degree from Columbus State Community College in 2006 and is a member of the Ohio Association of Veterinary Technicians.  She enjoys all aspects of her career but her favorites are taking x-rays and performing dental cleanings.  When not at Willow Wood she likes to spend her time working on craft projects and spending time with her husband, Rod and their two adopted Great Danes, Chrissy and Lilly.

Danielle, RVT

Danielle joined Willow Wood Animal Hospital in September 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Denison University in 2008 and has graduated from Columbus State with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology in May of 2016. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband, Chad, and their three Golden Retrievers, Scout, Sammy, and Dexter.

Terri

Terri joined Willow Wood Animal Hospital in 2008 as the evening and Saturday morning receptionist.  Haus is her Great Pyrenees rescue and she has a soft spot for large breed dogs.  She earned her degree in Elementary Education in 1990 and her other passions include gardening, knitting, and spending her days with Kindergartners.

Savannah

Savannah joined the staff of Willow Wood Animal Hospital in April of 2013. She acts as a receptionist and technician assistant. She has always had a passion for animals and is the proud owner of 3 dogs; Maya, Ruger, and Bear also 3 cats; Oliver, Harlie, and Cruze.

Education

Graduated in 2012 from Johnstown High School

Sami

Sami came to Willow Wood Animal Hospital in July of 2000. Answering phones, making appointments, scheduling surgeries, and helping with behavior issues are some of her main responsibilities.

Sami is passionate about all aspects of the Sport of Purebred dogs: showing for Championship, obedience titles, tracking, agility and most especially AKC Hunt Tests. Pictured here with "Blush" who earned her Master Hunter title at only 3 years of age.

Sami is also an AKC licensed judge for conformation, hunt tests and working certificates. When not working at Willow Wood or competing, she and Blush are either "hangin' out" or training for their next competition.

Education

Graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in Speech Pathology/Audiology and a dual Major in Psychology.
